In 2016, Lin Rui-Hua set a Guinness World Record with the highest temperature ever achieved in a wood-fired kiln — 1563°C. This year marks the 10th anniversary of that achievement, a milestone that holds great significance in the global history of wood-fired ceramic art and represents Taiwan on the world stage.

For Rui-Hua, this accomplishment was not merely a technical breakthrough or challenge, but also a reflection on humanity’s relationship with nature and the environment, as well as a practice of environmental awareness.

A kiln resembles a miniature Earth. Through geological transformations within the kiln, we are able to rediscover humanity’s pursuit of civilization. In the exhibition “At the Summit of the World – Wood-Fired Ceramic Art: The 10th Anniversary Exhibition of Lin Rui-Hua’s Guinness World Record”, visitors can experience wood-fired ceramic works created at extreme temperatures exceeding 1500°C, revealing transformative beauty that surpasses the limits of ceramics and offering a vision of the future path of pottery art.
